Problem:

I updated to windows 11, now every version of gibbs I have crashes when I open a tool dialog.
I have all updates installed, ran the recovery tool for each gibbs version and reinstalled every version, but if I open a tool and  Gibbs crashes.

Answer:

Do a windows 11 update and continue installing and rebooting, then re-running the update software until it states you are up to date.

Nahamic windows service

Even if you disabled this service in windows 10, it will be reinstated by windows 11.

When this particular crash happens we have discovered that the audio software that comes installed on MSI/Asus boards is getting in the way (NahimicOSD.dll ) and has been causing this problem for some users.  This is known for injecting into processes and crashing applications.  This is a fairly common issue with other 3D applications and the MSI Audio Software.

You could try updating the Nahimic software if you like, but most sites recommend disabling or uninstalling it completely.  We would recommend uninstalling it completely.

This file could be found as part of the "A-Volute" or "Sonic Studio" software.

You can also see if you can find a blacklist .DAT file in ProgramDATA\Nahimic\... and added Virtual.exe to the blacklist.
(Example: "BlackApps.dat")
